What to expect during a therapy session
The sessions are interactive where all participants share ideas and experiences in the moment.
Therapy is offered to children, teens, and adults of all ages.
The sessions can be one-on-one or share the time according to need. For example, many people with autism benefit from shorter therapy sessions so you can start off a session with the parent(s), then include the child/teen, and then recap with the parent(s).
Practicing your new skills is an important part of therapy, so at the end of each session, suggestions are given to incorporate the learning into your daily living.
Essential: people with autism need your help and support to grow capacity to cope with daily life. Family Learning for Autism encourages all family members to participate to increase communication.
Scheduling
Family Learning for Autism offers services online (Teams) and in person (in your home or a neutral location of your choice) and can work with the whole family! (parents, siblings, and child plus anyone else who wants to learn).
Family Learning for Autism offers a complimentary 30-minute virtual consultation. We can e-Meet on Teams (or phone call) to discuss your goals and challenges and determine the best approach to learning.
